STATEMENT

The facility is being constructed on a brownfield site following the demolition of the former VEC buildings. The site is located adjacent to the proposed PPP Science Building which is due to commence in 2023.

The CSSB building is a circa 4,800sqm footprint five storey stone and glazed modern building which as well as providing administrative and associated facilities also provides incubation spaces for start-up companies and SETU associated facilities; it also includes new Canteen facilities and collaboration spaces to encourage student activity at the northern end of the campus.

The project was procured in accordance with the CWMF requirements and having secured planning permission at end of 2020, is currently on site and due to be completed for mid-2023.
