STATEMENT
The project consists of the construction of a new circa 1175m2 three storey extension to the existing Emergency Department Building at Mayo University Hospital together with an extensive upgrade of 600m2 of the existing unit to provide increased bed capacity and modern emergency treatment functionality.
The new building will be constructed within an existing courtyard and will require the use of lightweight MMC materials and techniques
The works will be undertaken in phases to minimise the impact on the existing ED operations with the new units constructed and the existing operations transferred to the new facilities before the refurbishment and upgrade of the existing unit is undertaken.
In addition, the construction of a CT Unit Extension has been added to our appointment due to an urgent requirement for augmented facilities. The unit has been designed and procured in advance of the original ED and MAU project with construction starting on site in early 2023.
- 1270m2 of new Build and 600m2 of Refurbishment/Upgrade
- Enhanced Emergency Department, Medical Assessment Unit and CT Scan facilities
- Multi Phased Development in a live healthcare environment
